I hope you’ve all managed to get away this summer, despite our terrible weather! Although, what a turnaround this week has been, and the sunshine has finally arrived! It’s been a very productive August and our team have continued to work so hard to achieve the ultimate goal.

We’ve been posting photos and videos on Facebook to keep you up to date, but it doesn’t really show you exactly how much progress has been made. Here’s a few bullet points of what has been done since our last newsletter:

· The fire alarm system has been fitted, tested and certified.

· The heating panels and ceiling fans have all been installed now into each individual kennel.

· The stereo system is currently being installed in each kennel so that your pet can listen to some relaxing music during their stay and for the more pampered pooch, they have the choice to also watch their favourite TV programs.

· Our company sign, which is illuminated, has been installed above the entrance to our reception.

· We’ve decorated the larger suites with Farrow & Ball paint in a lovely, muted tone and I will be adding a few more knickknacks to give it a more relaxed and homely feel. 

· The furniture has arrived on site now and we will shortly start assembling and fitting out the various suites ready to greet your furry friends.

· The disabled toilet and staff toilets have been installed.

We have some further road signs to put up in due course, once we are open to help you find us more easily. 

I know that some of you eager beavers have been on to the site already, but can I please kindly ask you NOT to visit us just yet for health and safety reasons. Thank you for your understanding.

As much as we’d like to be able to help you now, we are not licenced and cannot accept any bookings until our licence is issued. We are hopeful that the council will issue this within the next few weeks. Fingers crossed!  I can assure you, that we will let you know as soon as we are able to accept bookings via an email so please keep checking your inbox and spam folders.

I think that Nikki (our Kennel Manager) deserves a shout out as she has worked so hard to write the numerous policies and procedures required by the council to support our application for a licence. Thank you Nikki! 😊

We’re still looking for a dog groomer who would be interested in establishing a business from our premises. We have a dedicated room and outside area available for rent. 

What next?

Obviously, this is a shortened version but, just to give you an idea of how close we are now to finishing:

· The electrics are to be certified.

· Finish the laundry room for plumbing, fitting a storage cupboard and installing the washing machines and dryers.

· Fit the gates to the outside runs.

· We need to add a ramp to our entrance for ease of access.

And last, but by no means least, there is a snagging list to go through.
