Wags and Whiskers Pet Hotel & Spa Update

Firstly, we would like to thank everyone for registering your interest in our new business and appreciate your patience. We are genuinely overwhelmed by the support we’ve received and it just goes to show that Somerset is in need of good quality care for your furry friends.

As you know, we were hoping to open by the end of June but regretfully, due to circumstances beyond our control, we have had to push this back to the end of July (with all being well). It’s so difficult to give an exact date at the moment and I’m sure you’re all as frustrated as we are, but we have a number of factors that affect our opening with the main one being the local authority’s licencing. We will keep you all informed as we go through the next weeks and hope to provide you with a date as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we have been working hard to get all our systems and procedures in place ready to open the doors and provide an excellent facility for your furry friends.

The CCTV system is being installed which will allow you to subscribe to monitoring your best friend’s wellbeing during their stay with us. Windows and doors are in, the floors are tiled, walls and ceilings insulated and plastered, and wiring installed. Every week sees a huge change and brings us closer to opening. It can’t happen soon enough.

We have been working with Bridge Veterinary Surgery who are based in Burnham-on-Sea to assist us and they have agreed to be Wags & Whiskers designated Vet when we open.

Update on Services

The Hydro pool is being built as we speak and will be installed shortly. We’re really excited about the Hydro pool facility and we have a fully qualified and experienced therapist on our team to deliver this service. We have no doubt that it will help dogs with rehabilitation, arthritis or just have some fun!

We’ll also be installing a treadmill in the not too distant future and we have spoken to a number of vets who, subject to our regulation with the Canine Hydrotherapy Association, will be happy to refer their patients to us.

We will also be able to offer your dogs a massage service that can benefit your pet’s mental and physical health. Massage may also help to reduce stress and anxiety, increase circulation, decrease pain. This will be carried out by a fully qualified and experienced therapist.

We’re constantly looking at other services to offer that will
enhance your animals stay with us.

Social Media Updates

We’ve set up our social media links and have some videos on TikTok, which are being updated weekly showing how we’re progressing with the facilities.

We have an excellent team of highly qualified and extremely experienced individuals raring to go as soon as we are ready. They will be on hand to meet you at the launch party and answer questions.

That’s all for now but hang in there as Wags & Whiskers Pet Hotel & Spa is opening soon! Thank you again for your patience and support.
